SYRA Mentoring

FLL Mentoring - Team Unlimited spent much of Fall 2007 organizing and mentoring SYRA FLL teams at weekly meetings and competitions.  We dedicate a majority of our fall season to this undertaking - mentoring locally, supporting our teams and volunteering at FLL tournaments, and organizing and running our own in-town FLL tournament.  We also create and maintain the content for the www.syraweb.org website, the internet virtual home of the Sharon Youth Robotics Association, with many resources of use to the wider FLL community.  We have loaned Mindstorms kits to two teams, and supplementary equipment to others, to support their participation in the SYRA and the FLL.

Our Tuesday SYRA FLL meetings at the Sharon Girl Scout House are the glue that holds together the organization, and are especially important for our less experienced teams.  The first half hour is always reserved for individual team issues, usually one-on-one with members of the FTC mentors team.

From our recruiting and challenge kickoff meetings, through the early efforts and practice competing on the regulation field, to our rounds to qualify for regional and state competitions, Tuesdays were always busy and exciting!

The Second Annual Sharon FLL Invitation was a great success this season, and fun for all our teams!  Our especial thanks to the members of the other two great Sharon FTC teams (the Sharon AngelBots and the Sharon Myotonics) for volunteering to help with all the important roles on the day of the competition - judges, announcers etc. You folks are awesome!
