Field kit components can be obtained at reasonable cost from www.vexlabs.com.  MUCH less expensive than the previously announced $5460.00 field.  These kits include only metal hardware, not wood or lexan pieces, or foam floor tiles.  From the 2005/6 season, see the field overview, field assembly manual, bill of materials, and low-cost field design documents

  1. FVC Pilot program team registration started on Tuesday, September 13th, 2005 at 12 noon, and is on a first paid, first served basis.  Teams will consist of up to 10 high school age youths, plus their coaches/mentors.  The non-refundable team registration fee is $200.

  2. Teams will register with the local regional tournaments (within 250 mile radius) to compete.  Information as to regional contacts will be sent after the confirmation email and payment.  The non-refundable event registration fee will be $300.

  3. The FIRST Vex Challenge for this season has been released, as of October 9th 2005, and is accessible from http://www.usfirst.org/vex/.

  4. Six FIRST Vex regional competitions will occur between December 2005 and March 2006, each hosting a maximum of fifty teams.

  5. The FIRST Vex Finals will be in April 2006 at the FIRST Championships in Atlanta.  The .pdf list of teams to compete is on the FIRST Vex Challenge website.
