Team Unlimited was invited to a Robotics panel discussion on July 26th 2007 at the MIT Museum by Neena Buck of the MIT Industrial Liaison Program and a charter member of panel sponsor TiE-Boston (along with the Robotics Trends newsletter), the global entrepreneurial network. It was an informative evening for our team, learning of the commercial prospects for various disciplines of robotics from industry leaders. A great experience for a team that usually focuses on challenges from FIRST! Neena and Dan Kara (of Robotics Trends) gave an introductory presentation, followed by Helen Greiner's (Chairman of iRobot) presentation on the evolution of her company. The panel was moderated by Dan Kara, and made up of Cory Kidd from the MIT Media Lab (who was showing his prototype robotic weight-loss coach), Joe Jones of Q Robotics, Rory MacKean of Mobile Robots (who brought a PatrolBot, which roamed the museum galleries) and Chris Wallsmith of Bluefin Robotics. |
